Schools

In this section, you will find general information about Camden schools during COVID, including open and closed schools, free school meals, school transport, uniform and COVID testing in schools. Every Camden school will be approaching the school day differently according to their unique circumstances, so please advise parents to contact their child's school directly for information and advice.

There is a wealth of information about home-learning in the Childrens Activities and Home Learning tab.

Occupational Therapy for Children - More Than You Might Think!

Occupational Therapists (OTs) are a cherished group of friends to Family Early Help for many reasons.

We tend to think of OT for children with SEND. But OT's can also provide support, advice and guidance for children who have experienced trauma, who may be showing distressed behaviour in the classroom or at home, or difficulties with sensory processing or regulation. They are skilled at helping think through how environments can be changed to help a child to process and regulate, so they can feel more confident doing daily activities.

Most Camden schools have an OT allocated to them (OTs are employed via the Royal Free) and it is well worth bringing them into a scaffolding network and/or seeking their expertise to help you think through a child's situation.

Here is a slide pack about what OTs can do and to get you thinking about sensory processing and reguation for children.

And here is the list of occupational therapists in each Camden school and the October 2020 OT newsletter and OT contact details:
