Seasonal Support
Colder temperatures and shorter days can make it harder to maintain social connections. However, there are numerous organisations which help to reduce loneliness in Camden. They can be found here with their opening hours.
Keeping carers socially connected
Mobilise is a charity which provides emotional, practical, and financial support to carers in Camden. They are holding online social ‘cuppas’. If someone wants to join but has not attended before, there is also an FAQ page and introductory video.
Camden Carers are also continuing to host social events in-person and online over the winter months, including art sessions, chair-based yoga, and creative writing. The full schedule and joining details can be found here.
Keeping older people socially connected
The Winter Wellness project run by Elizabeth House helps older people between October – March by connecting them to a range of practical support and local free social activities. People in Camden over 65 can be referred or self-refer into the Winter Wellness Project by emailing [email protected] or phoning 020 7690 1300. Further information can be found on their leaflet and website.
Silverfit is a charity which connects older people together for exercise and social connection by hosting physical activities. Prices start from £3 a session, with annual memberships costing £12. They deliver sessions in ten London boroughs - sessions delivered in Camden can be found here.
Further enquiries can be sent to [email protected] or they can be reached by phoning 0208 123 7879.
