Information and advice about the Cost of Living Crisis and Tackling Poverty

Cost of Living Crisis and Tackling Poverty

In response to the Cost of Living Crisis that began following the pandemic, the council agreed a £2.25m annual cost of living crisis fund to provide financial support to residents who cannot afford essentials to live.  This section outlines how you can refer residents for a cost of living fund and how they can refer themselves.

The cost of living crisis has put extra strain on people’s finances, and the colder weather can be a source of additional worry.

Cost of Living Fund

People needing financial support can apply the Cost of Living Fund if they need help paying for food, energy bills or housing. The amount you can receive will depend on your circumstances and the size of your household. You can receive up to 2 payments over a 12-month period. You can find the latest information about the Cost of Living Fund here.

How people can access funds

People can apply for the funds themselves online if they are eligible (please check the criteria).

If people need access to the fund but are not able to apply for it themselves, organisations in the Camden Advice Network can do this on their behalf.

Further information is also available on our Cost of Living leaflet which can be downloaded and shared with residents. We will be updating this as information changes so please keep checking this page for the latest version.
