Benefits and Welfare Rights
The Disability Energy Support team have a free service to help disabled residents with the cost of energy bills including water advice.
The aim of the service is to provide free energy advice to those who need it. The advice offered covers all aspects of energy including the following:
- Energy debt
- Switching tariffs or supplier
- Becoming more energy and water efficient
- Accessing energy benefits, grants, and trusts
- Free pre-payment fuel vouchers (conditions apply)
- Helping customers understand their bills
- Contacting suppliers on behalf of the customer
- Signposting and referring to other support services (internal and external)
- Water advice including water payments, arrears, and tariffs
Residents who use Disability Energy Support also have access to our other Scope services such as:
- Employment – Supporting disabled people gain employment
- Family – Supporting parents and carers of disabled children
- Helpline – Supporting on topics such as benefits, social care, housing, and assistive technology
- Online community – Forum for disabled people, parents, and carers to get advice and information
