Or have 3+ local contacts able to respond within a reasonable time and /or a live-in carer

Or Careline can provide a GSM (mobile SIM) unit, but only if there is not a landline in place and the signal is strong enough when tested

Live in London Borough of Camden

Or ordinarily resident in Camden and within close proximity of Camden so that Careline can reasonably provide an effective service.

Informed consent provided by the person and they are expected to agree to AT

Or joint visit with Careline (referrer /carer /close family or friend). Mental capacity assessment and best interest decision if necessary and appropriate.

 

Eligibility:  Anyone with care and support needs that a care practitioner or provider considers would benefit from AT can be referred. It is not necessary for a formal assessment to have been carried out. Individuals can also self-refer by phone or email – details can be found on the Careline leaflets and website.

Charging:  Careline is funded by the London Borough of Camden. People using the Careline service are charged £5.72 for the monitoring and responding service, or £4.72 if they have the monitoring service with their own contacts responding.

There are no charges for any of the equipment – people are provided with the equipment and maintenance that it is assessed that they need.

Careline is subsidised for people receiving means tested benefits so that no charge is payable.

People who pay for the service are invoiced monthly.

People who meet Care Act eligibility and have been financially assessed, the following rules are applied:

People who are under Continuing Healthcare (CHC) or Section 117 Mental Health arrangements will be funded through those routes.
