Parking during a call out

Purpose

This procedure describes the actions to be taken by a Careline Officer to park in an appropriate manner during an assignment.

Process

  1. Staff should seek to park as close to the customer’s premises as is possible. In a safe place (as defined by the Highway Code)
  2. Not in restricted parking bays without the relevant permit placed on the vehicles.
  3. Any parking tickets issued due to driver error are to be paid by the staff member driving the vehicle at the time. Vehicle Parking Permits The Careline vehicles are permitted to park with the correct permits displayed:
  • In resident parking bays (preferred option).
  • On single yellow lines for 30 minutes maximum.
  • On double yellow lines for 30 Minutes maximum (last resort option)

The Careline vehicles are not permitted to park:

  • On red routes - no exceptions
  • In car club bays - no exceptions

NB: We recommend that staff try to park in residents bays first as there is no time limitation on this option.

The other two options which are available to the service i.e. single or double yellow lines must only be used when the first option is not available to you.
