The Centre for Relational Practice

The Centre for Relational Practice

Welcome to the Camden Centre for Relational Practice.

We have one mission: to make relational cultures in public services a common practice for the common good.

Relational public services have honest and compassionate relationships deeply woven into the fabric of their organisational life. We think relational public services are not only possible; they're essential for tackling today's biggest challenges.

The Centre works alongside the Camden Children and Learning Academy, Camden Council services, and a range of external organisations and institutions to help make relational public services a reality.

Here are some of the techniques we use regularly to make relationships part of everyday working life. Plus some of our favourite resources and ideas from other brilliant people working in the relational public services space. More coming soon!

Listening Circles

A tried and tested method for sharing perspectives, making space for reflection, giving people the grounding to appreciate, and learn from, one another

Check-ins

A simple easy way to give people an opportunity to connect, share, and give and receive compassion

Promoting Relationships in Supervision

some ideas for adapting supervision practice to a relational way of being, with an emphasis on two-way feedback

The 3 Ps

The 3 Ps model - professional, personal and private - from Thempra's social pedagogy is brilliant for thinking about connection

Mentalising and Epistemic Trust

We're big fans of mentalising in relational practice - put simply, its empathy with purpose. This video from our friends at the Anna Freud Centre is a useful intro to the idea
