Information for CSFH practitioners

Social workers working in CSFH need to meet certain professional standards in order to demonstrate their fitness to practice.

Social work is a regulated profession and you must be registered as a social worker with Social Work England to be able to practice. Meeting these standards is key as it demonstrates the level of knowledge, skill, experience and expertise you have achieved in terms of career development.

Social Work England holds the register of social workers and you will initially be added to the register on qualification.

Social workers need to re-register every year and re-registration must be completed by 30 November each year. Re-registration is dependent on you demonstrating that you continue to meet the skills statements.

Social workers should go into their Social Work England account and choose from a list of learning options, providing a description and other details of each and how these demonstrate how you have met the requirements for all the social work standards listed. The website is available at: https://www.socialworkengland.org.uk/

Camden expects all social workers to complete at least 5 days of learning as part of the local Continued Professional Development requirement.

The Academy can support you to ensure you meet the re-registration criteria, providing workshops and support sessions around the Continuous Professional Development requirements. Camden will pay the registration fee for all permanent social work staff.

Social workers will need to update their registration status on Oracle once confirmation of registration has been received and HR will automatically refund the registration fee.
