Case management and case records

It is Camden’s policy that children and families’ experience of working with CSSW is positive and that they are able to build strong relationships with social workers who remain a constant in their lives.

There is a legal duty for local authorities to hold social work records for a period of time so that children can have an opportunity in later life to access these records if they wish.

CSFH cases are therefore held for the period set out in the Retention Schedule before being destroyed so that children and families can access them

The files are also available to social workers who need to access the information for the purposes of assessment and social history taking where a case is re-opened.

To access archived files, social workers should contact Carlos Carrington; ext: 3668
