The Section 17 payments policy sets out when CSFH can provide financial support and the procedures for assessing need and authorising payments.

All requests for resources over £500 must be referred to the CSFH Resource Panel for agreement. Details on what resources are covered by the Panel can be found in the Resource Panel Terms of Reference. All applications should be via the Resource Panel request form for consideration at the Panel which sits every Monday.

Where a family is destitute and unable to claim benefits due to their immigration status, CSFH may only provide financial support under very limited circumstances. This is explained in the Families with No Recourse to Public Funds policy.
