CSFH services and teams
CSFH has a duty to safeguard and promote the welfare of children and to provide social care services for children who are in need or in need or protection or who need to be provided with accommodated by the local authority.
The Children Act 1989 guidance provides information on the legal framework and key principles of the Act that underpins CSFH intervention in children's lives, including the duty to work in partnership with parents where possible.
The guidance includes information on the various court orders available in connection with the care of children and information on how parental responsibility can be obtained, transferred, shared or ended. This is important as it can have a direct effect on how CSFH works with parents.
