Domestic abuse
A MARAC is a specialist multi-agency meeting that shares information, analyses risk and plans for the safety of domestic abuse victims and their children.
Social workers should consider a referral to MARAC where there are high levels of risk stemming from domestic abuse and follow the procedures in the MARAC policy.
To inform decisions on referral to MARAC, social workers should use the CAADA-Dash risk assessment:
CSFH has a representative who attends all MARAC meetings where information is shared and a risk management plan drawn up to manage the behaviour of perpetrators and keep victims and children safe.
The MARAC representative will liaise with social workers on individual cases to be presented to MARAC and will feed back from the meeting so that social workers are aware of specific risks and how these are being managed in order to keep victims and children safe
Camden's MARAC representative is Hellen Stack: contact ext: 1833 or email: [email protected]
