Participation

Participation

Participation is a dialogue between children, families and social workers based on mutual respect that enables children and parents to contribute to decision-making and shape outcomes. It is about engaging children and families so that they can get their voices heard and influence decisions that affect their lives.

The PEG is a strategic group of practitioners from CSFH, Early Help and YJS responsible for implementing the Participation strategy.

The group is co-ordinated by the Participation Officer and meets quarterly to monitor and oversee participation in children's services and plan for participatory events and activities.

For further details see the group's Terms of Reference.
