Participation

Participation

Participation is a dialogue between children, families and social workers based on mutual respect that enables children and parents to contribute to decision-making and shape outcomes. It is about engaging children and families so that they can get their voices heard and influence decisions that affect their lives.

It is Camden's policy that wherever possible, children and parents are encouraged and enabled to take part in case decision making and service development.

The Children's Consultation and Participation policy sets out the expected standards when working with children and families.

The CSFH Participation strategy sets out the steps social workers need to take in order to support children and families to participate in key meetings and processes such as assessment and explains the resources in place to help with this.
