CLA services in Camden

Camden’s Corporate Parenting Service provides services for all children looked after and care leavers up to the age of 25.

Social workers are expected to work in partnership with the child’s allocated IRO who will play an important role in their care whilst they are looked after.

All looked after children will have an IRO allocated on becoming looked after and who will generally remain the child's IRO whilst they are looked after. The IRO provides independent scrutiny of CLA cases and will chair CLA reviews to ensure Camden's plans for the child are in the child's best interests and their needs are being met. IROs can also provide guidance and support to CLA social workers.

Social workers should refer to the Appointment and role of IROs policy and the Working with IROs practice guidance for further details.
