Children in need processes

Children in need processes

Children in need (CIN) are defined as children who need services and support in order to reach or maintain a reasonable standard of health and development.

All children who are known to CSFH will be children in need and case management will involve the processes of assessment, planning and review.

Research shows that children who are in receipt of social care services tend to have poorer educational outcomes than their peers.

To address this, Camden's Virtual School provides support to social workers to help them support the education of children who have a child in need or child protection plan.

Social workers can get support from educational consultants from the Virtual School so that they can work in partnership with children, families and schools to support the child's education and improve outcomes.

For more details please see the Virtual School webpage.
