Partnership working

Social workers need to work in close collaboration with IROs and the professional network in the child protection arena in order to manage risk and safeguard children.

The multi-agency Support and Challenge Panel provides scrutiny for cases where a child has been subject to a child protection plan for some time but where progress has been limited.

If a child has been subject to a child protection plan for 2 years or more and subsequent reviews show little or no progress, the conference chair will refer the case to the Support and Challenge Panel for further guidance on case direction.

The purpose of the panel is to provide advice and guidance to social workers on what services and interventions may help to progress cases so that the plan can be discharged.

Arrangements for the panel are made by Nataly Baturova; ext: 1628
