Partnership working

Social workers need to work in close collaboration with IROs and the professional network in the child protection arena in order to manage risk and safeguard children.

The CSCP provides multi-agency guidance for all agencies in order to ensure an integrated response to child protection in the borough.

Most CSCP guidance will appear in the policy and practice hub under the specific issue it relates to, for example substance misuse.

However the following CSCP guidance covers general issues that it is important social workers are aware of.

The CSCP escalation and resolving professional differences guidance provides social workers with guidance on what to do when there are differences of opinion between agencies in cases involving safeguarding children. The purpose is to ensure these differences are resolved in a timely manner so that the safety and welfare of the child is not compromised.

The CSCP non-engaging families guidance sets out multi-agency actions to be taken where families are not engaging with services and there are concerns about the child's safety and welfare.

The CSCP also offers multi-agency training details of which can be found here.
