Local Authority Designated Officer (LADO)

Local Authority Designated Officer (LADO)

Working together to safeguard children states that every local authority must have a designated officer who deals with allegations against staff and volunteers who work with children.

The Camden LADO should follow the LADO procedures and ensure there is a record of all formal and informal requests for advice from children's services in Camden.

LADO procedures

Where the LADO holds informal discussions by way of consultation with an agency the LADO consultation record should be completed.
