Child protection
Police protection orders allow the police to remove a child to a place of safety for up to 72 hours
For further information please see the Child protection orders policy.
Sometimes it may be necessary to take immediate action to safeguard a child because they are at immediate risk of serious harm. Social workers should be aware of legal orders such as Police Protection Orders and Emergency Protection Orders as well as checks that police can carry out on adults caring for a child.
