Induction and probation

Induction and probation

Induction is a planned programme of events and learning designed to introduce new workers to Camden and prepare them to carry out their role.

Probation is the period at the beginning of employment where workers are assessed and supported to ensure they are able to meet required standards and fulfil their role.

All new social workers must have an induction plan drawn up with their supervisor setting out the activities that they will carry out as part of their induction over the first 6 weeks.

The CSSW Induction policy sets out the expectations on supervisors and social workers in order to ensure  every new member of staff receives a suitable induction that prepares them to take up their role.

Social workers and supervisors should also be aware of mandatory induction training that must be taken up as part of the 6 week induction programme.
