Camden's learning offer
The key drivers for learning and development provision in Camden is to implement Camden’s multi-agency Children’s Workforce Training Strategy and the Social Work Training Strategy, a joint strategy in partnership with Adult Social Care.
The training programme is open to all social workers (including agency staff) and it is an expectation that training is taken up as part of the Continued Professional Development requirement.
The Professional Social Work Educator and the Principal Social Worker are responsible for identifying learning needs for the division and working with the Learning and Development team to commission suitable training provision.
Individual workers needs are identified by them and their supervisors during supervision. Service wide needs are identified through a variety of ways from audit learning or in response to changing legal frameworks and practice or from research findings.
The quality and impact of training is monitored by the Learning and Development Service and the Social Work Academy to ensure it meets the needs and expectations of social workers and to measure the impact of training on standards of practice, service delivery and ultimately, outcomes for children and families.
To help with this process social workers are asked to complete training evaluation forms at the end of every training session.
