About the Social Work Academy
The Academy partnership operates across the division to provide the structure that facilitates the development of the social workforce through good recruitment and retention practice and high quality learning and post qualification development and support for workers at every stage of their career.
The key areas of the Academy’s work are:
- identifying, commissioning and quality assuring social work learning and development provision in partnership with the Learning and Development Service
- overseeing the recruitment of social work staff including staff entering the profession via initiatives such as Frontline, Step up to social work and apprenticeships
- supporting the professional development of staff via programmes such as the AYSE programme
- delivering Camden’s children’s workforce strategy, the social work training strategy and career development strategy
- ensuring the social work workforce is able to maintain required professional standards and meet registration criteria.
