Induction and probation

Induction and probation

Induction is a planned programme of events and learning designed to introduce new workers to Camden and prepare them to carry out their role.

Probation is the period at the beginning of employment where workers are assessed and supported to ensure they are able to meet required standards and fulfil their role.

The Children and Learning Directorate holds an induction session every 3 months giving new workers an opportunity to meet with senior managers and find out about the various services that make up our offer for children. 

New staff will be invited to attend at the next available session.

The CSFH quality assurance induction programme covers child in need, child protection and looked after children social work processes and should be read as part of staff induction. 

CSFH learning on the Children Act 1989 sets out Camden's legal duties and should be completed was part of the induction plan. The module is available here
